My new favorite lunch place.

October 20, 2008

Granted, this changes a lot. Working in downtown Minneapolis is both a blessing and a curse… so many options, so much convenience, but such a weight on my wallet.

Either way, I’m now a fan of Cafe Di Napoli, which recently re-worked its menu to include the same recipe of dishes but at a lower price. It’s about time too, they’re surrounded by Zen Box, known for its cheap heaps of Asian food; Taco John’s, famous for $.69 tacos on Tuesdays; and MyBurger, where you can get a tasty cheeseburger and fries on Monday for less than $5 (and which recently sent me a coupon for a free malt… yum). And that’s all just in one building.

But today at Cafe Di Napoli, I just ate a great spaghetti with red sauce and a salad for $4.74. It was delicious.

Did I mention I’m going to the gym today? ;-)

Fall foliage

September 25, 2007

My mother is coming to see me soon and when we were in the early planning stages of this trip, she kept saying she wanted to see the fall foliage. Here’s a picture I took downtown today…

We’re not quite there yet. Is is possible for the leaves to change dramatically by Thursday?

Mostly I just love playing with my new camera.

Overheard In Minneapolis

September 25, 2007

Overheard In Minneapolis is a great site for submitting conversations that you’ve overheard anywhere around the Cities. I just submitted my first entry. Something about a Hobbit in a suit. Keep an eye out. :)

Also if you have time, just take a look at the Google search for “overheard” and you’ll find tons of other cities doing the same thing.

I don’t think I’ve laughed so much in a long time.

My new toy

September 25, 2007

Bought a Kodak C613 digital camera today. It’s pretty.

I had a Sony camera but it finally went kaput on me last night. Plus my mother is coming to visit me this weekend and I need to make sure I can capture our memories! ;)

Speaking of this weekend, we’ll be spending it in exciting Stillwater, Minn. I’ve never been but have heard many great things about it, and it sounds like something my mother would love.

Especially with the fall foliage coming around.

At least she’s clean.

That City Cat Clinic was fabulous. The vet was this sweet woman who just handled Bevo very well. Anyway, she said what lots of folks at the Humane Society were saying–that the virus will just have to run its course. She said that it would probably last another week or so.

But today, Bevo’s more active. She ran up to me when I came home from work and followed me around a bit, even tried to jump up on my leg and meowed like crazy for my attention. She’s so adorable, but I bet one day that kind of stuff will start to get on my nerves.

Anyway, the vet said that overall, as long as Bevo is still doing normal things like eating, using her litter box and cleaning herself, she should be fine. So. Here she is doing one of those things.
